Upon scheduling your print job, NPCP will establish a personalized ftp directory on our server for you to upload your print files to, as well as to download softproofs from.
You may then access this directory in one of two ways:
a) Through an FTP transfer utility application (such as Fetch, Cyberduck, etc.; most of these applications are available as free- or shareware) —
To transfer files, open a new connection; when prompted to enter connection information, type in beach.newspress.com as the server, and type in the user name and password provided to you by NPCP into the respective data fields on the log-in dialogue box. Press return/enter (or click “OK”/”connect), and a window for your directory will appear, to and from which you may copy files.
To ensure file structure integrity, we recommend that you compress your files (i.e. create a .sit or .zip of them) prior to uploading them.
b) Directly through your browser (should your browser support two-way transfer, allowing you to both upload and download) —
To transfer files, type ftp://beach.newspress.com into the url field of your browser and hit return/enter; type your user name and password into the respective data fields of the ensuing dialogue box, and hit return/enter; a window for your directory will appear, to and from which you may copy files.
